This week’s entry features an earlier version of Bette Midler (she’s been through so many iterations), when she was just starting to go big. It’s her first appearance on the Johnny Carson show, and she and her back up singers belt out “Optimistic Voices,” “Lullaby of Broadway,” and “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy.”
