Fill out practically any questionnaire as a person with Parkinson’s disease, and you inevitably hit the question, “Do you need help buttoning your clothes when you get dressed in the morning?”
Well, I can now answer “Yes,” but not because my fingers are trembling and/or no longer nimble. The problem is my waist has expanded. I added about 15 pounds when my gym closed during the covid-19 pandemic, and the excess baggage is all there on my tummy. I can no longer see my pant’s waistband, and it takes me forever to suck in my gut and squeeze the button through the button hole.
I blame Donald Trump for not ridding the country of the covid-19 pandemic by now.
