Thanks to the helpful encouragement and training expertise of my cycling friend, Bill Harwood, I got back on my road bike yesterday (for the first time in about five years), and together we rode about 20 miles on a rails-to-trails bike path in Northern Westchester County. It was a great experience – we ended up so far north we were in farm country.
Here’s a video from a program Bill has that shows exactly what the trail trip was like. Most of it was through lush green woods, but we did cross some bridges, such as the one above which spans the Croton Reservoir.
