When I attended the World Parkinson Congress in Portland (Sept, 2016), I heard many impressive presentations and met dozens of Parkinson Superstars. But the most amazing speech was given by Linda Olson, who lost both her legs and one arm in a horrible accident as a young woman. She went on to raise a family with her husband, climb mountains and go kayaking, and then was diagnosed with Parkinson’s.
You need to click on two links now:
- Click here for my coverage of her presentation. Make sure you do this while sitting on a rug or cushion, because your jaw will hit the floor.
- Click here for Linda’s brand new blog, “Get Out and Go!” It’s full of information, inspiration, and insights into living a great life despite the odds stacked against you.
Her site contains a YouTube clip of her doing 22 one-armed push-ups; it’s amazing.
The site is attractively arranged and seems full of positive energy. I admire it immensely.
