In celebration of all things sunny, and to promote an enriched environment, Parking Suns now features every Sunday a different YouTube music clip about the sun!
Today we pay tribute to Glen Campbell, who died this past week of Alzheimer’s disease. We’ll do a double header: First, Glen singing “Wichita Lineman.” Then an updated version of “Gentle on My Mind” by The Band Perry. Sun lyrics for both below.
I am a lineman for the county
And I drive the main road
Searchin’ in the sun for another overload
I hear you singin’ in the wire,
I can hear you through the whine
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line
I still might run in silence
Tears of joy might stain my face
And the summer sun might burn me till I’m blind
But not to where I cannot see
You walkin’ on the back roads
By the rivers flowin’ gentle on my mind
