Parky 1, 2, 3

One day recently, a box was left on the front stoop of our house.

Parky came out to investigate.  What could it be?

We took it inside and slit the top open.

Why, it’s another Parky!  This Parky has a black sweatshirt and is going to be the mascot for the next World Parkinson Congress, in Kyoto, Japan, from June 4-7, 2019!

The two Parkys become instant friends!  Portland Parky, in the blue sweatshirt, says, “Let me show you around your new home!”

First they meet Toro the cat.  Kyoto Parky trembles a bit, but Portland Parky says, “Don’t worry.  She’s cool.”

Next, they sit in our tiny backyard garden.  Note Mrs. Owl in the background!

Mrs. Owl is a friend of raccoons, and a big supporter of the World Parkinson Congress!

The two Parkys head upstairs to watch a live news broadcast on the Internet.  But suddenly, the doorbell rings.  Who and/or what could it be?

The Post Office delivered another box!  What’s inside it this time?

Whatever it is, it’s securely packaged!

Why, it’s another Parky!  Now we have three Parkys!  That’s quite a handful, and leads to the question:  How are we going to tell them apart?  Especially if, say, they take their hoodies off at the beach?

They could all wear different-colored fake mustaches.  That’s a possibility, but rather weak.  Maybe wise old Mrs. Owl can suggest something!

Mrs. Owl looks through her bag of souvenirs that she brought back from the World Parkinson Congress in Portland.  She has something different for each Parky.

Portland Parky (Parky 1) now wears a pendant indicating that he’s #1 and that he’s a grad of the Congress last fall.

Parky 2 now wears a Stars and Stripes peace button.  Why?  It’s time to stop the violence in America and overseas, and devote the resultant savings in military expenditures to, among other things, medical research seeking a cure for Parkinson’s disease, cancer, ALS, diabetes, and more.

Parky 3 wears a royal pendant.  Why?  Because everyone who has Parkinson’s, as well as their care givers, doctors, therapists, and researchers, are, frankly speaking, royalty.  Wiktionary defines “royalty” as “People of royal rank, plus their families, treated as a group.”  Well, that’s us.

Question going forward:  What shenanigans adventures will Parkys 1, 2 and 3 undertake in the months ahead?
