Parkie Doesn’t Take Potential Loss of ACA Health Insurance Lying Down

All across America this week, Congressional representatives and senators held town hall meetings with their constituents.  Many Republican legislators faced hundreds of protesters who demanded that the Affordable Care Act (ACA, otherwise known as Obamacare) either remain in place or be replaced with something similar.

A big worry is that if the Republican-controlled Congress (along with Republican President Trump) repeal the ACA, people with pre-existing conditions such as Parkinson’s disease will be denied health insurance going forward.

What to do?

Read to the final paragraph of this Washington Post article for one Parkie’s response.

All right, I’ll print it here:

Andrew Mackey, 32, leaned on his cane as he described the Parkinson’s disease that had led him to leave his job but was manageable with his wife’s health plan through the Affordable Care Act. To try to save it, he had decided to run for Congress, against (the current representative, Republican) Jim Jordan.
