Parkinson’s Aggravations #287 & #288

There’s always something new to discover as you wend your way down Parkinson’s primrose path.  And it’s often aggravating.

Here are two items that I added to my list this week.  They’re pretty minor, but…

  1. Wrapping Christmas Presents. I used to excel at this, but how did I ever manage to tie bows with the ribbon?  Especially multiple strands of curling ribbon?  I look at the pictures below (downloaded from my favorite free-to-use photo site, Pixabay) and envision a huge, transparent STOP sign overlaying them.

  1. Half pills. My current drug regimen specifies that at some points during the day I should take 1-and-a-half tabs of Sinemet.  The tablets are scored and I’m able to snap them in half, but it takes a bit of concentration and effort.  The issue:  I return the unused half to the pill bottle.  However, the next time I need to take 1-and-a-half tabs, only whole tabs come out when I start pouring the pills into the palm of my hand.  All the half tabs sink to the bottom of the bottle.  Pouring, say, 60 whole tablets into my hand just to get at the five or ten half tabs at the bottom is nerve-wracking, as my fingers are already shaky and/or not good at the moment with fine motor skills.  It would be nice, half tabs, if some of you would kindly hang around the top of the bottle, providing me with easy access!   (Note:  picture doesn’t show actual Sinemet tablets….)
