Every Thursday, as part of my personal “enriched environment” initiative, I post a piece of art, usually from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which recently released online some 400,000 high-resolution images of its collection. All artwork will show a sun (or sunlight) somewhere.
I won’t name the piece or the artist, but instead invite you to study the art and post a comment addressing one or more of these questions:
- What is going on in this picture?
- What do you see that makes you say that?
- What more can you find?
If you have another idea, run with it.

Oh my gosh!! Where was this photo taken and what hope do any of the people have of getting anywhere near water?? Being in this crowd would be worse than Christmas shopping in a mall. 😉
Wait, Bruce – was this at one of your swimming events? 🙂
That’s me a little to the left of the center, wearing the Rolex watch.
Did anyone make a reservation?
1. Egads.
2. Sun off screen and to the left.
3. At least I think so.
While this look horrific to me, I wonder how all these people felt at the time. Maybe it was joyous for many.
Looks like a great day to be at the beach!
