Yesterday a 1st Grade teacher and I worked with Mishaun, a boy who is moving very quickly through everything we give him.
I gave him this page from a writing book that was written for struggling college students. He didn’t need me to explain what to do. He just started writing. Each time he finished a sentence, he looked up from his paper and his eyes roved around the room as he thought of what to put on the next line. He seemed pleased when he finished the page.
Today when I walked into his classroom, he ran over and hugged my legs.
So now we know our 1st Graders can handle adult material.
