On Parky’s first day in southern California, we visited the beautiful Black’s Beach in La Jolla. Why’s it called “Black’s Beach”? Perhaps because that’s the sand’s color!
To get there, you have to hike down stairs built into extremely high and steep cliffs.
Yes, black sand. A black sand castle!
Into the surf!
Parky. Frothy mix. Sunlight aplenty!
As this is a clothing optional beach, Parky felt fine sun bathing au naturel.
We took a long walk. Here are some of the sights we saw. At a break in the cliffs, a white moon rose just above this man’s head.
What’s this?
It’s a perch to sit on!
These are the cliffs we’re going to have to climb when we leave. OMG! The two birds in the sky are mere specks!
And here’s what we have to say about the climb: It pumps blood to the brain and really works those thigh muscles!
What a terrific day! What’ll we do tomorrow? Stay tuned!
Remember, you can buy your own Parky, the official World Parkinson Congress mascot, here! All profits go to the WPC Travel Grants Program, which helps a junior researcher or person with Parkinson’s disease to attend the World Parkinson Congress 2016 in Portland, Oregon!
Adorable!
That Parky sure gets around.
Beautiful!! Glad that Parky was able to get an “all-over” tan 🙂
