Here’s Parky in the departure lounge at New York’s La Guardia airport. New York’s been bitterly cold and snowy, so he’s heading to San Diego, California, where it’s sunny and warm!
Of course, this calls for a poem. Parky was sooooo keen about this trip that he rewrote the words to the Al Jolson song, “California, Here I Come.”
San Diego, here I come!
New York’s gray and mighty glum!
I’ll swim there,
The gyms there
Are great they say…
The sunlight
Is so bright
Everyone’s IQ goes up there –
I would gladly run ten miles,
Just to see those sunny smiles!
Gee, I’d love to stay awhile
San Diego, here I come!
Remember, you can buy your own Parky, the official World Parkinson Congress mascot, here! All profits go to the WPC Travel Grants Program, which helps a junior researcher or person with Parkinson’s disease to attend the World Parkinson Congress 2016 in Portland, Oregon!
Enjoy your time in San Diego!!
