According to this video produced by the National Parkinson Foundation, cognitive problems for Parkies are not so severe or scary until you’re very old, at which point many people, Parkies and non-Parkies, experience cognitive decline.
At least, it seems that way to me.
BTW, I like his tie.
I just attended the annual dinner for Team New York Aquatics (TNYA), the LGBT Masters swim team for New York (see photos below). I had just rejoined the gay swim team after a ten-year absence. (It’s the largest Masters swim team in New York, and the largest gay swim team in the world.)
The party was in a large and crowded room. I talked to a lot of old friends and met many new people. I multi-tasked (went through the buffet line while talking about my swim workouts and waving to former boyfriends across the room). Everything went as smoothly as a pat of butter sliding down a tilted electric frying pan.

Based on this experience and what I heard in the video, I think I’ll start worrying about cognitive problems when I’m…oh…about 102 years old.
Meanwhile, if you haven’t done so yet, drop everything and read this entertaining and enlightening article written by a Parkie: “Have You Lost Your Mind?”
It’s fun, and my all-time favorite!
