Here are all my prescription drugs and dosages, including some that I started taking before my Parkinson’s diagnosis. I hope I’m recording the dosage amounts from the bottle labels correctly – sometimes it’s not clear what the numbers mean:
- Ropinirole, 0.5 mg – 3 tabs 3 x day
- Azilect, 1 mg – 1 tab in the morning
- Carbidopa-levodopa, 25 mg – 1 tab 3 x day
- Nortriptyline, 50 mg – 1 tab at night
- Simvastatin, 20 mg – 1 tab at night
- Clonazepam, 1 mg – 1 tab at night
- Androgel 1.62%, 20.25 mg per pump – 4 pumps every morning
I also take these OTC items:
- Aspirin, 325 mg – 1 tab
- Multivitamin with Minerals
- D3-2000 IU
- CoQ10, 100 mg
- Saw Palmetto, 450 mg
- Acetyl L-Carnitine, 400 mg
I list these here on my blog so others can know what I’m taking. Also, whenever I see a new doctor I get asked what meds I’m on. So I’ll open this page on my iPhone, hand it over and say, “Here. Take a gander at these powerful powders, pretty pink pills ‘n potentially potent potions!”
Great Idea, it would be great to see everyone listing the drugs that they take, so we can all see how many variations there are. I believe that we are all just guinea pigs for the medical profession and drug companies, and also that the drug companies do not want us to find a cure as they make so much money from anyone who has PD. Here are the meds that I presently take, and have taken for some time:-
Amantadine 100 mg capsules – 1 a day in the morning
Co-careldopa 25 mg/100 mg – 2 a day modified-release tablets afternoon and evening
Co-careldopa 50 mg/ 200 mg – 1 a day modified release tablets at night
Diazepam 5mg 5 mg – 1\2 a tablet a day when needed
Madopar 100 capsules – 100 mg /25 mg capsules – 5 a day – 2 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon
Pramipexole dihydrochloride M/R 4.5 mg (3.15 mg base) 1 a day in the morning
I would be interested in hearing from anyone who is taking similar tablets to see what dosage they are taking and to compare how the meds work, symptoms etc.
PS I have had Parkinsons since I was 36. I am now 58. 22 years.
