Every Thursday, as part of my personal “enriched environment” initiative, I post a piece of art, usually from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which recently released online some 400,000 high-resolution images of its collection. I won’t name the piece or the artist, but instead invite you to study the image and write a comment about what you see or what it makes you think of. All images will have a sun (or sunlight) in them somewhere.
So study the picture, and leave your reflections below!
Morning glory!
Thanks for visiting, and for the comment, Donna! Hope to see you here again! – Bruce
Taking a Visual Thinking Strategies/Descriptive Inquiry approach… a few initial thoughts…
I see lines in motion, moving diagonally, horizontally, vertically.
I see yellow almost everywhere, either in line form or flecks.
I see yellow and orange combined to produce an early morning or late afternoon richness of light.
The blue lines in the foreground make me think of fish leaping out of water.
Wow, Carol – Thanks for the startling comments! Hope to see you here again! – Bruce
I see a story about someone sowing seeds and feeding the birds at the same time. Meanwhile, the sun comes between them – as an interference? Lighting the way? It’s a three-part picture.
Thank you for writing, Chris. It was a pleasure to read your comment.
