It’s interesting how Parkinson’s disease affects my balance.
When I get dressed in the morning, I challenge myself to do so standing up.
When I stand on my left leg, bend over and raise my right foot to put on a sock, there’s no problem. However, when I stand on my right leg to put a sock on my left foot, I’m a little wobbly. I can do it but I have to focus and practically order certain parts of my body to make some kind of adjustment so I stay balanced.
The same happens when I put on my pants. However, when I put on this one pair of stretch sweat pants that are really tight, my foot gets snagged along the way. I can manage to stand as I draw the sweat pants up my right leg, but have to sit down for the other leg.
Drat!
